A GraceLaced Day Women's Conference

I have wanted to hear Ruth speak and when I saw that she was going to be near my mom's house, I really wanted to make it happen.  It was really perfect timing with it being close to Mother's Day, so I gathered all the daughter's I could, and my mom, and we planned this weekend together.

The church was beautiful.  The fellowship was amazing.  We met some lovely ladies our table and enjoyed special conversations and friendship.  Ruth spoke truth and inspired and encouraged us to accept the Father's Grace - beginning our days with what Christ has already done for us.   Study the Word, Rehearse the Word, and Walk it out in Faith.  Make it habit.  She spoke humbly and she  had us laughing and empathizing at her transparency in real life.

One of my daughter's though, became quite ill during the conference.  She didn't feel great as we left that morning, but she literally got worse and worse.  I sat with her outside by this lovely water fountain and listened to the conference through the speakers and tried to comfort my daughter.  By the time the conference ended, we had made the decision that she needed immediate treatment and she ended up at an ER close to my mom's house.  They found a severe infection and gave her an antibiotic injection. She came home and slept much of the evening.   She is feeling better, but it's just one of those crazy things that a body can deteriorate so quickly.

I'm grateful for these moments, even among the mishaps and unexpected events of life.  I don't get to attend church often with my mom, and as my daughters get older and have their own growing families, our lives changed and we don't fill up multiple rows at church like we used to.

Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they may ask,
it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
Matthew 18: 19-20

And then my shoes!  Oh my.  Really, this was so embarrassing.  Recently, I bought some new shoes and also grabbed my daughter the same pair.  So in my haste to get ready at 6:30am, and not fully awake, I grabbed my shoe on the right foot and her shoe on my left foot.  I'm really NOT a morning person.  I couldn't figure out why as I walked that my left foot felt so loose - like my foot had shrunk overnight!  Ha!  Well, my daughter is 2 sizes larger than my feet, and I only discovered then that I had one of her shoes on when I was trying to tighten the strap after I was already inside the conference and it continued to bother me.  How could I have not noticed sooner??!!  Now I'll be watching my feet all the time.

There were times in my life where I would have fled the scene, but instead, I laughed hard and went on to enjoy the conference.  Humility was certainly part of a lessons unfolded.
